Just saying “oxblood” conjures a relatively gross image for me, but the clothing and accessories created from this trend are absolutely delicious. This makes up for the name. Merlot, deep red, wine, oxblood…whatever you wish to call this catchy fall trend, it’s here. Every store has a little slice and variance in shade of this yummy color. The flare pants were actually purchased many months ago, but I’m just now able to fit into them (three cheers for the little engine that could), and I jumped on this top as soon as I saw this trend exploding. I always recommend making a trend fit your individual style, like twisting a runway color into a slightly different form. For example, though this deep red may be featured in my tank via matte sequins, the addition of a true navy blue and a strong white make this a top, not just a trend. And for a girl who tends to steer clear of dramatic glitz and glam, these matte sequins are right up my alley. If you’re digging the wine-tinted looks this season, jump on it. You don’t want to be too late and realize your deep red choices just make you look like a girl with too much holiday fever. Deck the halls with bad timing and late trending.
