Prune: Porch Garden
I’m slowly teaching myself to have a green thumb. Key word: Slowly. In the process, I’ve started at a beginner’s level. I highly recommend this route. A few herbs, a few perennials, and a succulent. The Nugget and I have transformed our screen porch into a cozier area for entertaining with fresh plants and potted flowers. Soon enough, I’ll share outdoor furniture and more. But, in the meantime, here’s a look at the porch garden.
A couple of easy and money-saving decisions can make all the difference. I’ve used a shelf I found at the local flea market as the showcase and two thrifted metal tins as flower planters. I’ve added extra color with assorted ceramic pots, Digz Signature Series Gloves, a Woodland Watering Can, and an Anthropologie painted pot I found on sale (hidden gem!). I plan to add cilantro later, but for now, I’ve got rosemary and basil happily thriving. A little mint, too. The reason this project began in the first place was fresh herbs, and now, with the help of organic potting mixture, it’s blossomed into something much more. Wow, this post is punny. More from me soon!
