You’ve seen it on the runways, you’ve read about it in the magazines, and you’ve heard the fashion gurus shout it’s trending status from the rooftops. Jewel tones are in for fall. Now, jewel tones can be anything from deep purples and emerald greens, to bold turquoise and navy blue. The deeper shades can easily be seen as evening, dark and luxurious. It may be gorgeous and chic, but it’s not practical for me. Because my day-to-day activities don’t usually call for evening wear, I chose to twist this jewel tone trend into a daytime casual look. I’ve chosen a darker green and a bright turquoise blue for my colors, and I’ve paired them with simple gold accessories and a pump in a complimentary shade. By choosing these accents to coincide with my blouse and skirt, the colors can be as loud as they’re meant to be. Plus, this blouse is one of the more comfortable items in my closet, no need to weigh it down with heavy accessories. Breathe, shirt. Breathe.
