Saturday was the final day of 2012 Nashville fashion week. I spent the day at the mall at green hills for a special Tim Gunn afternoon. Not only did Tim Gunn host the runway shows for Kate spade New York, juicy couture, and lucky brand jeans, but he gave advice and styling tips while using the models as his examples. I saw him speak at Vanderbilt University last year, and I always forget how funny and straight forward he is. It was truly a pleasure to watch Tim Gunn make magic happen again.
“Cally” Rieman, the designer of Kal Rieman, has a refined look at tailored goods. Using a mixture of bold prints and classic silhouettes, this collection was an updated look at professional chic. I fell in love with the final look, a pink plaid suit with a cropped pant. Super fun.
The Sylvia Heisel Collection oozed sustainability. With staple pieces made with innovative fabrics, each look was a twist on an old favorite. I appreciated her reinvention of classic pieces with attention to cut and construction. And without a doubt, the star of the entire night was the pup carried down the runway. Such an “awe” moment for the crowd.
This was definitely the most European collection of the entire week. Designed by Magid and Michele Bernard, this line is known for its inspiration and elegance. With the additions of French lace and hand-embroidered fabrics, each look was proof of this label’s attention to clean lines and detailing.
Let’s all just take a minute to soak in the glory that was the Randi Rahm collection. It was the perfect ending for a glorious week. each dress was ready for the red carpet, each model astonished the crowd, and I let out a tiny squeal at the final wedding gowns 50ft veil. Known on an international level, the Randi Rahm collection is filled with beautiful draping, hand-beaded perfection, and glamour. Three cheers for Randi Rahm.
