Say hello to Tuxedo the cat. It was a sad day in Nashville when Elson’s vintage store, Venus and Mars Showroom, slowly trickled out of business. I will admit that I took part in the feeding frenzy surrounding the 70% off sale in the last few days of this wonderful store’s life. I visited three different times before thanksgiving to make sure there weren’t hidden treasures left untouched. I even stumbled across the beautiful Karen Elson herself and despite the Porte-Plume‘s urging voice that I needed to go say hello and introduce myself, I quivered out of complete star struck-ness..? And didn’t say a single word to her. Put me in front of the biggest household name celebrities and I’d be fine…but Karen Elson? My knees turn weak. Nashville is a stomping ground for the blossoming beauties and pounding hearts of some wonderful people, including Karen Elson and her husband, Jack White. Just one of the many pleasures running into them. Also, in one of these photos is a small hint at one of my favorite vintage purchases of. All. Time.
